Here is the official sparKCade criteria. If you have questions, please let us know!

Make a Game

The game must be of your own design, though it can be a reinterpreted or modified version of an existing game. If you think it’s too close to another game, holler at us and we’ll help figure it out.

Build a Cabinet

The game must be inseparable from, or at least benefit from, the game’s cabinet or housing. It should feel at home in an arcade or as a conversation piece in some nerd’s home.

Bring it to the Showcase

The cabinet must be able to be transported to/into the final venue. If it fits through your door, it’ll probably fit through ours.

Pay to Play is not OK

Games may not require money to play. This isn’t a real arcade, you don’t get to keep the change.

Keep it Safe

The cabinet (and by extension, the game) must not be physically dangerous to players or break any laws. We reserve the right to deny submissions if we believe it to be a hazard.

Enter by March 20th

Entrant information is due by March 20th, 2018, and should include a brief on the game/cabinet and the participants involved. We’ll use this to make sure the venue will work out, and to excitedly tell everyone about the cool games they can play at the Showcase.
